Air Drones

I have been seeing more and more air drone product designs lately. This video shows one example called the Air Dog. They are leaning towards a action based go pro style audience. I found some other air drone products here ( http://www.parrot.com/usa/products/ ) and they have a mini drone jumping sumo which I think could be the future of RC cars. The only problem I have with affordable drones is the battery life, most air drones and rechargeable RC products alike only give you 10-20 mins of play time. It seems to me that an air drone should be able to receive power wireless through some kind of transmitter.

3D Printing

3D printing machines are finally starting to come down in price this year for the general public. At $800.00 it's a nice machine from the looks of it. The layering is fairly smooth and the way it's built enables faster printing times than previous machines ( Da Vinci 1.0 aio 3d printer pictures ). I think it's exciting for designers, crafters, and small businesses alike.

Recent products to hit the market

All of these products are great innovations, I espically like the green products. The only one I don't really see a use for the is rubber keyboard for smartphones, with voice to text the user can send a large message very quickly. My Aunt works with blind people and is very excited about the tablet designed for braile use.

Snap Power Outlet and new Night Vision Goggles

I thought this was a very clever idea. Using a preexisting item in the home and modifying just the outer cover is economical and sensible. For a 14 dollar donation you can get one in August through kick-starter. By next year these should be on the shelf or available online. I can see a couple of replacements in the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom which is where people generally plug in their phones. The main question I have, is it safe for all usb devices?

The great thing about these night vision goggles are the versatility they give you, being able to wear them as opposed to having to hold them. It also gives you different uses other than home security. Off the top of my head, having a pair of low-cost Night Vision Goggles, would give you an advantage if you were to go hunting. It would let you star gaze much clearer, it would let you see what really goes on with those back yard critters or let you see what was really going on any where light was unavailable.
In the past, because the military were the only people using night vision goggles, it made them expensive for a civilian to get a hold of. Well, thanks to retailers you can now get Cheap Night Vision Goggles at a price that you can afford. And really, what is your safety and sanity worth? I am sure it is worth much more than the cost of a pair of night vision goggles. Not only can you purchase night vision goggles, but you can also get binoculars and night vision thermal cameras as well and all of these can now be readily brought by members of the general public either through a specialist retail store or online.
Certainly if you are looking for a very basic and affordable pair of NVG’s then it may be worth your while. With all of these different types of goggles you will find that the main feature is the light intensifier tube(s) which then allows a target to be seen by the person wearing them when it is dark.
Although panoramic night vision goggles are extremely effective as they are at present, the manufacturers of these particular goggles are always looking for ways to upgrade and enhance them further. At some stage they hope to produce a pair which also includes sensor fusion technology. This kind of technology will use both night vision and image intensifying technology along with an infrared sensor technology as well. Such goggles will be commonly referred to as “Enhanced Night Vision Goggles” or ENVG’s and there are some that are already using such technology in theirs. In fact ITT Industries have partnered up with Raytheon in order to develop such goggles.

Google Glass is a very cool idea in my opinion. Unfortunately Google has stopped selling them at this point. Evidently they have more to do so that Glass is worth wearing for more than it's smartphone capabilities.

Flexible phone by Kyocera. It’s made up of a flexible display which we have heard plenty about already with other brands, namely Samsung. This flexible phone isn’t just meant to have a flexible display though, it’s main attraction might easily be the fact that it can be worn like a bracelet.
